"I'll never forgive you—or your entire family," Demi said coldly, her voice cutting like glass.
"Why not?" Thomas blurted out instinctively.
"You really don't know? Do you need me to spell out what your family did to me?" she shot back, her tone sharp and cold.
Thomas fell silent.
"I'll admit it. We made mistakes in the past. But we know we were wrong now, and we want to make it right. Can't you give us a chance?" Thomas looked wounded, almost pleading.
...
"Ughhh, just say what happened already! The suspense is killing me!"
"One thing's clear—it's the Pitts who wronged her."
The comments began to guess the true story behind what happened between the Pitts and Demi.
...
"No. You don't get it. You still don't get it," Demi said with a deadpan stare. "You don't even understand how cruel you were to me."
"W-What cruel things?" Thomas asked, genuinely confused.
"What cruel things?" another voice barked—this time, it came from Harold, who'd just stormed into the tent.
"Don't throw around vague accusations and mislead people, Demi."
She looked at him with cool indifference. "And this is exactly why I say none of you understand what you did. You don't see it. You're still acting like I'm the problem—like I'm the one who needs to apologize."
Harold's expression tensed up.
"You want to talk about today? Fine," he snapped. "Annie was bitten by a snake. How could you just stand there and do nothing? Is your heart really that cold?"
...
"That's emotional blackmail, isn't it?"
"He's got a point. Even if they're enemies, she's still a doctor. Shouldn't she help?"
"Let's not twist things—other doctors were already treating Ana. Demi didn't step in because it wasn't necessary."
