A Second Life, A New Power novel Chapter 333

"Wait, Vivian, what are you doing back already? Shouldn't you be under hospital observation?" Herne called out in surprise.

As a doctor, he knew full well that snakebite victims were usually kept under observation for at least two days.

"The doctor ran a bunch of tests, and everything came back clean—no venom left in my system. So I asked to be discharged," Vivian replied cheerfully.

"But what if something happens..." Herne frowned.

"Oh, come on. We've got the medics, Dr. Finnegan, and Demi with us. I've got backup—what's there to be scared of?" Vivian said with a carefree smile.

"Let's not forget that you are also a doctor—top of your field, trained in both traditional and modern medicine," a staff member chimed in.

"Is that so?" Vivian beamed even more. "Well then, I feel extra safe."

Herne wasn't the least bit embarrassed. He laughed and said, "Honestly, with Demi and Dr. Finnegan here, I'm just backup."

...

After dinner, once both teams had pitched their tents, everyone gathered at Demi's campsite.

"Let's play Truth or Dare!" Cody said, barely able to contain himself. He'd been waiting all day for this.

"Uh... isn't it a bit inappropriate? Ana's still in the hospital," Maria said with a frown.

She knew Ana's fans always sought ways to twist things against Demi. If Demi started singing or sword-dancing tonight, they'd definitely spin it as "Demi partied while Ana suffered".

She was determined to protect Demi.

"But Ana's fine now, right?" Herne said, then turned to Thomas. "What do you think? We'll go with your call."

"It's fine. If everyone wants to play, go ahead. Annie's okay now," Thomas replied without hesitation.

"Alright then, just one rule—no endless song requests for Demi. Three max," Maria added quickly.

"Deal. Three's enough," Cody grinned, already hyped.

"And sword dancing! I have to see that," Vivian chimed in.

Ollie looked confused, glancing at his two teammates and wondering why they looked so eager.

Cody was the one who introduced Vivian to Demi's work. As a singer, he'd recently received a voice message from a fellow musician raving about Demi's songs. After listening, he was completely blown away and immediately shared her music on his social media.

Vivian had heard Demi sing from those posts.

Ollie, meanwhile, had been so swamped with work that he'd missed the whole thing.

...

Since he was the oldest, George handed the ladle over to Nigel.

"Spin it toward Demi," several voices shouted at once.

"Hey, hey—let's keep it fair," Nigel said with a laugh, spinning the ladle properly.

It landed on Cody.

"Yes!" Cody cheered, pumped with excitement.

Everyone knew exactly why he was so excited.
