Nigel: "I think it's nice to celebrate at a hotel. However, I'm sure the hall will be huge, and only a few of us will be there. Why don't we tell Demi to invite her friends as well?"
Maria: "What do you guys think?"
Maria was actually worried that the others would say no to the idea. First of all, some of them might be worried about offending Ana. Secondly, celebrities usually wouldn't like to mix with an average Joe, especially the A-listers.
After all, those people might beg them for a signature or a picture. The celebrities' privacy would be at risk as well.
Suddenly, everyone said Nigel had a point, and Maria could finally let out a breath of relief. So, all they had to do next was invite Demi's classmates. However, it wouldn't be a surprise anymore if they told Demi to do it, so it would be great if they could do it behind her back.
With that thought in mind, Maria started wracking her brain. A moment later, she noticed that her phone was about to run out of battery and suddenly had a great idea.
"Demi, can I borrow your phone? Mine is dead," Maria said sincerely while waving her phone at Demi.
Hearing that, Demi casually passed her phone to Maria without looking up at all. Then, Maria asked while taking the phone, "Is there anything I should avoid touching?"
"Do whatever you want." Demi was still going through her book.
"Can I use your WhatsApp too?" Maria continued asking. "I want to use it to…"
She was going to say she wanted to chat with Nigel and the rest. However, before she could finish her words, Demi said nonchalantly, "Sure."
