When the car stopped at a familiar destination, Derek was flabbergasted.
"Is she staying at a mansion owned by Felix?" He looked at Charles in disbelief.
"Yes," the latter replied nonchalantly.
Blinking, Derek asked, "Why aren't you surprised at all?"
Charles raised an eyebrow and said, "I knew about it long ago."
"Why didn't you tell me?" Derek frowned unhappily.
"Do you think I'm that nosey? Why would I tell you everything? If Felix found out about it, how would I be able to enter his house in the future?" Charles retorted defensively.
"Alright. You did the right thing. Felix hates it when others invade his privacy." Derek nodded.
…
The next morning, at the silent reading session in school, Demi naturally snatched Charles's book, "The Brotherhood of the Iron Fist", out of his hands.
The latter was confused.
After seeing that, the other students were stunned.
Meanwhile, Kinley was flabbergasted and wondered if she had gone mad. How dare she confiscate Charles's beloved book?
"Study properly. What's the use of reading this? Do you think you'll be able to learn fighting skills from this? It's a waste of time!" Demi declared grimly.
After all, she promised Derek that she would look after Charles.
Meanwhile, Charles inhaled deeply and told himself, "This is Felix's future wife. I can't scold or hit her."
"Give it to me. What do you know?" he retorted as he stretched his hands out.
"As long as you listen to your father, study hard, and meet his expectations, I'll teach you some fighting skills!" While she spoke, Demi flipped through the pages of her book. The images and information inside were quickly absorbed by her brain.
Since she was in the world of cultivation for 300 years, her fighting skills were unmatched; the skills in the book were extremely easy for her.
"Do you really know how to fight?" Charles didn't believe her.
"Yes." After flipping the book, Demi placed it on the table.
Though she didn't know it initially, she understood all the information after reading the book!
"Oh! So, you learned fighting skills!" Kinley's eyes widened in shock. Then, he came to a realization. "That's why you're so good at fighting!"
"Who knows fighting skills?" Kinley's tablemate, Luther Rigley, turned around curiously.
