"The Pitt family did something inhumane, violating all moral principles. They probably think you still have some humanity left, or they just see you as a blabbermouth. Either way, they don't want you to know, just in case you spread it further." Demi grinned mockingly.
Robert was speechless. His face, which had initially held curiosity and expectation, gradually turned expressionless. His smile faded, and his gaze sharpened.
"You're lying!" Robert gritted his teeth and snapped.
"You'll find if I'm lying one day. The truth will always come to light." Demi met his gaze.
"Don't come looking for me again. Even if you're innocent, I hate everyone in the Pitt family, including you!" Demi growled.
Robert fell silent.
Suddenly, Robert shot up, glaring at Demi with clenched teeth. "I'll ask my family and investigate it myself. I won't let you off if you lied!"
With that, he stormed off. His untouched meal remained on the table.
Demi smirked, then turned to her brother. "Timmy, let's eat. We'll head back to class after."
Timothy slowly turned to look at Demi. Then, like a malfunctioning robot, slowly lowered his head and picked up his spoon again.
…
Outside Felix's place at Oakroad, a driver helped Charles out of the car.
Charles was about to head inside when he noticed another car pulling up nearby.
A moment later, Demi stepped out.
Charles was shocked. Was Demi living right next to his cousin?
