A Second Life, A New Power novel Chapter 197

Who could mistake it? How in the world did Demi end up at Moran Academy? She'd been out of school for years—there was no way her academic record would have gotten her in unless she'd paid a fortune and had someone influential vouch for her.

Just as Daniel hesitated, torn about whether to go over and check things out, he heard a cheerful voice call out, "Daniel!" Turning toward the sound, he saw Ana beaming as she ran up to him.

"Hey, Ana," Daniel greeted her with a warm smile, and he helped her with her backpack.

When he looked back, the sleek black Bentley that had picked Demi up was already pulling away.

Ana waved goodbye exuberantly to a few friends before happily climbing into the front passenger seat.

Daniel's dominant CEO persona was one thing, but his looks were on a whole other level. He was cool, refined, and exuded an air of untouchable restraint.

His presence was commanding, even more so than Thomas', who had built a career in the entertainment industry. In fact, he was arguably more attractive and even more magnetic.

It was no secret that many of Ana's friends had crushes on Daniel.

As he placed Ana's backpack onto the backseat, he slid into the driver's seat, fastening his seatbelt with ease.

Out of habit, his gaze drifted toward Ana. He wanted to ask if she had seen Demi at school—if Demi had really enrolled at Ana's school.

But in the end, he hesitated. Bringing up Demi for no reason might irritate Ana, and that was the last thing he wanted. So, he chose not to say anything.

After all, if Ana had really seen Demi, she would've mentioned it herself.

"Daniel, why did you suddenly have time to pick me up today?" Ana asked cheerfully.

"I had a business lunch nearby, so I figured I'd stop by." Daniel's voice was gentle, and his tone was composed.

...

Oakread was the luxury villa community where Demi currently lived.

As soon as she got out of the car, she turned to Felix, who had also stepped out.

"Mr. Harrington, would you like to join us for dinner?" she asked casually.

Felix paused for a second, slightly caught off guard, before giving a small nod as he said, "Alright."

Truthfully, aside from his family and close friends, Felix wasn't used to dining with others. After spending three days at the Moone residence for his needling therapy, he had grown accustomed to eating with them.
