"Ms. Demi, I'm feeling a little bit sleepy," Felix said as he struggled to fight his drowsiness.
"Just sleep. That's exactly what it's supposed to do," Demi replied leisurely while flipping through the Traditional Medicine Index Records.
"Excuse me, then." Felix no longer resisted and closed his eyes, giving in to his drowsiness.
Then, he murmured, "Oh, right. You're going to class tomorrow, aren't you? I've arranged a car and a driver for you. He'll be waiting outside the villa tomorrow morning. From now on, he'll be picking you up."
He wasn't even sure if he finished the sentence before slipping into a deep slumber.
Just before losing consciousness entirely, Felix finally understood why Demi had insisted he showered first. Not that it mattered if she hadn't, as he would have done so before the needling therapy anyway.
…
Felix woke up feeling incredibly comfortable and well-rested the next day.
Last night, he had slept deeply for what felt like an eternity. All the discomfort and exhaustion he felt in his body had seemingly vanished overnight.
He had struggled with insomnia for many years, and after he had gotten poisoned, he ended up being tormented by illnesses. This had only worsened his sleep.
To be honest, aside from when he was an infant, he could hardly recall a time when he had slept this soundly.
Felix turned over and found himself covered with a blanket. The room was also extremely quiet.
It went without saying that Demi must have placed the blanket over him.
He reached for his phone on the bedside table and saw that it was already past one in the afternoon.
After getting out of bed, he instinctively tested his steps. He found that he could move comfortably and without the slightest pain.
He stomped his foot experimentally, and there was still no pain. It seemed that he really could walk now.
To be honest, the sensation he felt was novel and also slightly unbelievable.
Although Demi had said it would take three days to heal him, Felix had remained skeptical.
After all, he had consulted countless top doctors from both modern and traditional medicine, and they had all said they had no power to help him.
Was there truly such a vast difference between one traditional medicine doctor and another? Between one type of needling treatment and another?
He had undergone needling therapy many times before for various ailments, but the effects had always been negligible at best.
And yet, Demi's needling therapy was an instant success.
Since her medical skills were this remarkable, how could she have been mistreated by the Pitts before? Furthermore, why wasn't her reputation widely known?
Felix was in a good mood as he went downstairs, his mind filled with questions.
On the first floor, his butler, Yves Mahone, had been waiting a while for him. When he saw Felix, he stared at his leg in shock and said, "Mr. Harrington, your leg…"
"It's fine now," Felix said, stomping his foot again to demonstrate.
"That's wonderful! I told you your legs would recover. The Mr. and Mrs. will be overjoyed when they hear the news!" Yves exclaimed, looking thrilled and excited.
Felix nodded with a smile. "Yeah. Don't tell them just yet. I want to surprise them."
