"By the way, Mr. Pitt, I'm thinking of buying Demi a meal so that we can talk properly. Would you like to join us?" Connor enthusiastically invited Thomas while looking at him.
At that point, Connor was probably the only one who couldn't sense the tension between Demi, Thomas, and Ana. He could tell that Ana was a little hostile toward Demi, but the same couldn't be said with Thomas.
Connor thought Ana was just being competitive because Demi was her peer. So, he didn't think too much about it.
After hearing the invitation, Thomas was stunned for a moment. Then, he immediately nodded and said, "Alright. Just let me know when and where."
After that, he said awkwardly, "Don't tell her that we're both meeting her. Instead, say that you're the only one who'll be meeting her. We have some misunderstanding between us, so she might not accept your invitation if you mention me. This will be a good chance for me to clear the air."
When Connor heard that, he was confused.
"Oh, Connor… You should try to keep us! Why can't you see the bad blood between Demi and the Pitt siblings?"
"That's just how pure and innocent Connor is…"
"Connor, hurry up and reject Thomas' request!"
"Connor, don't get tricked by Thomas right after Ana has tricked you!"
The comments were going crazy.
Then, Wendy said, "I think you should both invite Demi out separately. Otherwise, it would be inconvenient to talk when there are three of you. What do you think?"
At that moment, she wasn't afraid of offending Thomas and Ana anymore. Instead, she just wanted to help Demi as much as possible.
Ever since Demi traveled 20 miles to see them because of Wendy's message, Wendy had decided to protect Demi herself. After all, Demi even helped them multiple times and gave them warnings over and over again.
That was why she didn't want Demi to accept Connor's invitation without knowing anything. Then, from what Wendy knew about Demi, the latter might just leave without saying anything. At that point, Connor might misunderstand the situation, and their relationship might turn sour.
Instead, Wendy hoped Demi and Connor could get along more. Not only was Connor popular, but he was also an honorable man who could be a great friend.
