A Second Life, A New Power novel Chapter 110

"Hahaha! Demi scared them again. Look at Maria and Tyler's reactions."

"Superhuman strength."

"Absolute powerhouse!"

"Tiny but terrifying."

"Am I the only one wondering how she even managed to lift two huge tree trunks?"

"Nothing surprising. Like Maria said, just get used to it."

The livestream chat was lively once more.

Demi let out a helpless laugh. "They're not that heavy."

"How could they not be heavy? Just wait for the three guys to come back. We'll carry them together," Maria insisted, eyeing her sternly.

Demi stayed silent for a moment.

"Alright, then I'll just carry one," she compromised.

"Not even one! These trees are way too heavy. You could hurt yourself," Maria scolded, her expression as serious as a worried mother.

"One is fine. It's about to rain so. We can't waste time," Demi reasoned.

As if on cue, raindrops began to fall from the sky.

Maria instinctively looked up. At some point, the sky had darkened, and now, droplets were slowly starting to fall.

Without another word, Demi set one of the tree trunks down, then turned and strode off. "Just wait here for me. I'll be back soon."

"Get back here!" Maria shouted after her, both exasperated and helpless.

In the end, all she could do was watch as Demi disappeared into the distance, moving at an alarming speed.

On the way back to camp, Demi ran into George and the other two men.

They froze on the spot, and their faces were filled with shock. Then, in perfect unison, they threw their hands out and started yelling.

"Demi! Put it down! Put it down right now!"

Demi was speechless.

What was with everyone today?

"I got this," she assured them.

"Just put it down. We'll carry it back together," George insisted.

Demi had no interest in arguing. Without another word, she simply picked up her pace, leaving them all in the dust in a blur.

The cameraman scrambled to keep up, rushing after her.
