Year Five: The Perfect Goodbye Plan novel Chapter 94

She didn’t dare to ask for more.

After confiding in Yvette about what it felt like to become someone’s wife for the first time, Silvia finally felt a sense of relief.

Instead of staying at Chronos Gardens, Silvia called a cab back to Opal Ridge Retreat.

The moment she stepped into the living room, she was met with three pairs of anxious, searching eyes.

“Silvia, did that guy trick you into getting married?” Finn was the first to speak, his tone bristling with disapproval.

What on earth was going on with Kent? He’d gotten engaged yesterday, registered the marriage today—was he planning to throw a wedding tomorrow? The rush made it seem like Kent was desperate, as if he couldn’t wait to be rid of bachelorhood.

Finn couldn’t shake the feeling that Silvia wasn’t being treated with the respect she deserved.

“It’s not like that.” Silvia knew she owed her family an explanation. She tried to smile, her eyes shining with a calm resolve. “I just decided I want to get married.”

They all exchanged glances, uncertainty flickering between them.

Lola’s expression shifted, a hint of worry clouding her features. She looked at Silvia, hesitated, and then asked gently, “Silvia, did something happen during your three years in Luminova City? Did someone hurt you?”

Ever since Silvia had come home, things had felt… off. Lola couldn’t help but fear that Silvia’s heart had been broken, and that was why she was in such a hurry to settle down.

The original plan was to set the engagement and let Silvia and Kent spend more time together, get to know each other, and only then talk about marriage. Now, everything seemed to be spinning out of anyone’s control.

“No, nothing like that.” Silvia did her best to keep her smile bright, her face open and cheerful. “Honestly, he’s good-looking and rich—if I don’t grab him now, he might get away!”

Her playful explanation made the Ashford family visibly relax.

Seeing the tension ease, Silvia decided to drop another bombshell. “Kent and I have decided to move in together.”
