Year Five The Perfect Goodbye Plan novel Chapter 208

“Shipley?”

Hearing the name, Kent’s brows drew tightly together.

He knew Shipley had returned to the city just a few days ago.

Was he bothering Silvia again?

A flicker of concern passed through Kent’s eyes. He glanced at Yvette, his voice cool. “May I come in?”

“Of course.” Yvette waved him inside.

With her permission, Kent stepped into the living room.

On the sofa, a woman lay sprawled in a tangled heap. Silvia’s long hair tumbled over her face, one hand tucked under her head, the other dangling toward the floor, clutching an empty wine bottle for dear life.

“Silvia, I’m here to take you home.”

Kent knelt down beside her, gazing at her disheveled figure. He gently brushed her hair back, revealing her face.

He studied her delicate features, frowning slightly. Who knew how much she’d had to drink tonight? Her cheeks were flushed, and she looked visibly uncomfortable.

At the sound of his voice, Silvia’s eyes fluttered open. When she saw him, the corners of her mouth twitched.

Suddenly, she sat up, her gaze locking onto Kent’s. She tossed the bottle aside and, with both hands, cupped his face, almost as if he were some kind of toy.

She squeezed his cheeks from side to side, and then, out of nowhere, Silvia let out a low, tipsy laugh. “Mr. Parsons, you’re really handsome.”

Kent arched an eyebrow at her slurred compliment.
