Year Five The Perfect Goodbye Plan novel Chapter 218

Silvia couldn’t help tugging at the corner of her mouth, a smile threatening to break free.

As always, nothing ever seemed to faze Kent.

“Tsk, tsk.”

Suddenly, a chorus of teasing clicks sounded from beside her, and Silvia glanced over, startled.

Just one look, and her cheeks flushed pink.

A few coworkers had gathered nearby, watching her and Kent interact at close range. At first, they’d all seemed a little intimidated by the air Kent carried with him, but after witnessing his easy rapport with Silvia, their nervousness quickly faded.

“Silvia, you really do keep your secrets well,” one of them teased.

“If only I could find a guy as handsome as yours,” another chimed in with a dramatic sigh.

“If he’s your husband, Silvia, then I wish you both a lifetime of happiness together,” someone else added, and soon, they were all showering her and Kent with playful blessings.

The office suddenly felt lighter, filled with laughter and warmth. Silvia couldn’t help but laugh along with them.

She waved her hand, gesturing toward the pastries and bread spread out on the table. “Go ahead, help yourselves—those are all for you.”

Then, without waiting for more ribbing, Silvia reached out, grabbed Kent by the wrist, and whisked him away to her small office.

Once inside, Kent lowered his voice with a hint of amusement, “Am I not fit to be seen in public?”

“No, it’s not that,” Silvia sighed, exasperated to find him still teasing her. “Kent, I just think we shouldn’t flaunt things too much. It’d be embarrassing.”
