Year Five The Perfect Goodbye Plan novel Chapter 188

“You pushed me,” Nannie insisted, clinging to her original claim.

Silvia let out a faint, almost mocking smile. “Nannie, you still have your clothes from yesterday, don’t you? Why not give them to the police for testing? That’ll prove whether I ever touched you.”

Fingerprints could reveal everything.

Nannie paused, clearly realizing this possibility only now. She stared at Silvia, opened her mouth as if to explain herself, but in the end, no words came out.

The officers exchanged glances, not missing the shift in the room. They weren’t fools; it was clear enough what had really happened.

Their eyes settled on Nannie, cold and unimpressed. She looked frail and harmless, but who would have guessed she’d orchestrated the whole incident herself?

One of the officers, jotting notes, began, “Miss Spencer, you really—”

Knock, knock.

A sudden rap on the half-open door cut him off.

Silvia instinctively glanced toward the hallway and watched as a man in a suit stepped into the room.

His expression was dark, his gaze lingering on Silvia just a moment too long. She couldn’t read what was behind Kent’s eyes.

She kept silent, standing off to the side, but a sense of dread was already settling in her chest.

Of all the people in the room, Nannie was the only one who seemed genuinely thrilled to see Kent.

She burst into tears, immediately slipping back into her wild, desperate act. Slapping her hands on the hospital bed, she stared at Kent with red-rimmed eyes. “Kent, I was bullied! Why did you take so long to get here?”
