Year Five The Perfect Goodbye Plan novel Chapter 130

He could only truly feel at ease if she remained constantly within his sight.

When Kent voiced his concern, Silvia merely smiled, soft and untroubled.

“Don’t worry about me. I can take care of myself,” she replied.

Kent fell silent.

Even now, Silvia still treated them as two entirely separate people. Even though they were living under the same roof, for her it was no different than sharing an apartment with some random guy.

Changing her mind about that was going to be a long, uphill battle.

Silvia, oblivious to Kent’s inner turmoil, returned to Chronos Gardens. The adrenaline from earlier had worn off, leaving her exhausted. She fell asleep almost as soon as her head hit the pillow.

Kent didn’t go back to the office that evening. Instead, he sat on the living room sofa, close enough for Silvia to find him if she needed anything.

Just then, his phone rang. Glancing at the screen, he saw it was his assistant. He answered, “Yes?”

“Mr. Parsons, the man who was driving—the one who caused the accident—his name’s Grady Murgatroyd. He’s, well, unstable.”

A madman. That made it much harder to press charges.

It all seemed like a tragic accident.

But as Kent listened to the name, a memory surfaced—Amy Murgatroyd. Grady Murgatroyd.

Murgatroyd wasn’t a common surname.

Could they be related?

“Look into it,” Kent ordered quietly. “See if there’s any connection between Amy Murgatroyd—she’s the head of design at The Ashford Group—and this Grady.”

“Understood.”
