Year Five The Perfect Goodbye Plan novel Chapter 125

Silvia followed Kent back to Chronos Gardens. The moment she stepped through the front door, the savory aroma of dinner wafted through the air, filling her senses and wrapping her in a gentle warmth.

No wonder, she thought, some people are so eager to settle down and get married.

There’s something deeply comforting about knowing someone is waiting for you at home, a light left on, a hot meal ready. That kind of warmth can melt away the chill of any day.

Except, in her past, Silvia had always been the one leaving the light on, the one making sure dinner was ready.

She didn’t want to linger on old memories. Shaking off the nostalgia, she headed toward the dining table. It was covered with a generous spread, each dish more tempting than the last. A smile tugged at her lips.

She glanced up, her eyes bright and full of life. “Mr. Parsons, I think you deserve a new title—Master Chef. This looks incredible.”

It wasn’t just that Kent could cook—he’d prepared all her favorite dishes. Silvia found herself wondering if he’d researched her tastes in advance. But then again, a man as busy as Kent probably didn’t have time for such trivialities.

Kent reheated the dishes for her, topped up her plate, taking care of every little detail with effortless grace.

A strange, indescribable feeling welled up inside Silvia.

With Kent, she rediscovered a part of herself she’d almost forgotten—the carefree, cherished little girl.

She was happy. She found herself truly enjoying married life.

The next morning, Silvia arrived at the office just as Finn stepped out of the elevator, sporting two spectacularly dark circles under his eyes.

She couldn’t resist teasing him. “Rough night, big brother? You pulling an all-nighter taking care of someone?”

“Don’t even get me started,” Finn groaned, waving a hand in defeat. He let out a heavy sigh. “You have no idea how exhausting your best friend can be.”

He poured out his complaints about Yvette the whole way, but despite all the grumbling, there was an unmistakable fondness in his voice. Silvia could see he was already hopelessly entangled.
