Year Five The Perfect Goodbye Plan novel Chapter 120

“Is something wrong, Director?” Silvia asked.

Amy hesitated for a moment before replying. “About earlier... I owe you an apology.”

She lowered her head, her lashes dipping down and casting a shadow over her eyes. “I just thought you seemed to have some free time, so I figured I’d give you something to do.”

Silvia offered a gentle nod. “I understand.”

Whatever Amy’s motive had been in sending her on errands, Silvia had already put it out of her mind. Whether Amy simply wanted to keep her busy or had some ulterior purpose, it didn’t matter to Silvia. As long as she did her work well, that was enough.

At the very least, she wouldn’t let the Ashford family name become a joke around here.

Amy caught the easy smile on Silvia’s face and pressed her lips together tightly, an odd, unsettled feeling rising in her chest.

“If there’s nothing else, shall I head back to my desk?” Silvia asked politely.

“Yes, that’s fine.”

Amy nodded, making no move to stop her, and instead retreated to her small office.

As the workday wound down and people began packing up, Silvia had just finished gathering her things when she heard Finn call out to her.

“Silvia!”

The elevator doors slid open and Finn strode out, heading straight over to her. He looked her over with a slight, helpless grin. “Come on, you’re coming with me to pick up Yvette. Honestly, you have no idea how much your best friend can drink.”

Silvia smirked. She was well aware of Yvette’s fondness for alcohol—but what she hadn't realized was how familiar Finn and Yvette seemed to be getting.

She was just about to respond when the door to the small office swung open.

Amy stepped out. Catching sight of Finn, her eyes brightened with a flash of excitement. As if by happenstance, she walked over and stood right beside the siblings, lingering there without saying a word, as if she belonged in their little group.
