By the time Silvia finished picking up the afternoon tea Amy had mentioned, Kent was already helping her load the boxes into the trunk. He frowned slightly as he set them down.
Glancing over at Silvia, Kent fixed her with a serious look. “Is this what you do at Ashford Group now? Running errands?”
After all, Silvia was the heiress of the Ashford Group.
It seemed like a waste of her talents for someone of her standing to be fetching snacks for the design department.
Catching the confusion on Kent’s face, Silvia let out a soft chuckle.
With a slight smile tugging at the corners of her mouth, she closed the trunk and slid into the car ahead of him. “Mr. Parsons, running errands is still part of the job.”
Kent shook his head in resignation, a hint of amusement flickering in his eyes as he climbed in beside her.
As he settled into the driver’s seat, something seemed to occur to him. “If Shipley bothers you again, just let me know. I’ll take care of it.”
“Thank you, Mr. Parsons,” Silvia replied, stealing a quick glance at him before looking away.
It suddenly struck her how fate seemed to keep bringing her and Kent together.
Every time something major happened between her and Shipley, Kent always seemed to be there.
“Oh, by the way—about our wedding,” Kent said, breaking the silence. “Have you thought about it at all? Any ideas?”
When he’d gone to discuss the marriage arrangements with Garth, the topic of the wedding had come up again. Kent realized it was time to talk to Silvia about it too. The truth was, he wanted to give her a grand ceremony—something everyone would envy.
“The wedding… I think we can wait a little longer,” Silvia answered. She was looking forward to it, in a way, but after just getting through the engagement party, she wasn’t eager to rush into a wedding right away.
Besides, there was barely any foundation to their relationship. The idea of standing in front of a crowd, reciting vows to each other, felt more than a little strange.
