Who’s the Dog Now? novel Chapter 239

Lennon spoke softly, and both Naomi and Ronald turned to look at him at the same time.

Meeting Lennon's eyes, Naomi realized he was calling for Ronald.

Naomi closed her eyes, wishing she could find a hole to crawl into.

Why was she being so presumptuous?

After that embarrassing scene just now, hadn't she learned her lesson?

Ronald pattered over to Lennon. "Lennon, how are you? Does it hurt? Do you feel bad?"

As Lennon lifted Ronald onto the bed, he looked at Naomi. "Could you please get something a child can eat?"

Naomi said, "Oh," and quickly rummaged through the things she had brought.

After searching for a moment and finding nothing, Naomi let out a sigh of relief and said, "I didn't think to bring anything. How about this, I'll go downstairs and buy something. You two talk!" And she ran out without a second glance.

Lennon watched Naomi's back as she fled the room, a faint smile gracing his lips.

He thought a child wouldn't notice anything, but as soon as the smile faded, Ronald said conspiratorially, "Lennon, you were smiling just now. Was it because of Naomi?"

"You like Naomi, don't you, Lennon?"

Lennon froze, then said reflexively, "You saw wrong."

Ronald acted like an adult. "Lennon, you only said I saw wrong, but you didn't deny that you like Naomi, did you?"

Lennon flicked Ronald's forehead with his finger. "Where did you learn all this stuff?"

Ronald huffed. "From Herbert, of course."

Herbert was Ronald's older brother. Even though the Spencers doted on Ronald, they wouldn't spoil him indefinitely.

Herbert was a vengeful person; he might even turn on his own brother.

Lennon was used to being alone, and Ronald was an exception in his life. He didn't want Ronald to get into trouble because of him.

"Alright, Lennon... I get it."
