The Abandoned Wife Dumped Him First (Victoria and Elias) novel Chapter 382

Abbey turned and backed away a few steps, biting her lower lip.

By now, her vision was so blurry she couldn't make out their figures, as if she were trapped in a kaleidoscope. Her head was spinning, and she knew she wouldn't be able to hold on for much longer before passing out.

“Mr. Yates, I’ll give you the money back. Just let me go…” In her heart, Abbey knew he would never agree, but she clung to a sliver of hope in a last-ditch effort.

Mr. Yates sneered. “Let you go? Weren’t you so tough just now? Kicking me? What, you’re scared now?”

“You think I need that ten thousand bucks?”

“Go on, grab her for me!”

At his command, the men behind Mr. Yates closed in on Abbey.

They moved slowly, as if deliberately tormenting her, making her feel like she was being cut with a dull knife.

Her temples throbbed. Biting her tongue hard to stay conscious, Abbey suddenly threw the cash in her hand at them.

The hundred-dollar bills flew in their faces, and the men were too slow to react.

Throwing caution to the wind, Abbey charged through the gap between them. Just as she was about to collide with Mr. Yates, she shoved open the door to the nearest room and ran inside.

And crashed into a warm chest.

She looked up, her vision a blur, unable to make out the person's face.

Outside, Mr. Yates’s furious voice came through the door.

“Damn it! You think you can escape just by running into another room?”

“Bitch!”

“When I get my hands on you, I’ll kill you!”

Abbey had no other choice but to grab the man’s arm. “Please, help me…”

At the same time, the door was violently kicked open.

Mr. Yates stormed in, cursing, completely oblivious to the room's occupants. Seeing Abbey hiding in a man’s arms, he strode forward to drag her out.
