The Abandoned Wife Dumped Him First (Victoria and Elias) novel Chapter 381

Then, the escort gave the bottles a little shake and handed them to Abbey with a smile.

“Here, drink these, and thank Mr. Yates properly.”

Abbey rarely drank; you could even say she never had.

When she got into Imperial University, Tamara’s father had been so happy he’d pulled her into the yard for a small drink.

She’d only had half a sip of whiskey before the world started spinning and her vision went black.

When she woke up, it was morning. She was lying in her bed with a splitting headache, and Abbey’s mother came in with a hangover remedy, laughing that she was a lightweight.

Her gaze fell on the brand name of the beer—Admiral’s Brandy.

Her roommate had told her it was one of the strongest beers they had.

With her tolerance, she’d be unconscious after two sips, let alone two bottles.

Abbey bit her lower lip, her fingers tightening around the cash.

She needed money. Badly.

This money could give her father a break and get her sister better treatment. All she had to do was force herself to drink these two beers…

Abbey took a deep breath, accepted the bottles, and asked Mr. Yates, “If I finish these, can I take the money and leave?”

Inside the dim room, the blinding lights flashed across his nonchalant expression from time to time.

He lowered his legs and leaned back. “Yes.”

Abbey’s eyelashes fluttered. She immediately tilted her head back and began chugging straight from the bottle.

The beer's strong, pungent taste slid from her mouth down her throat.

She drank so quickly that the corners of her eyes turned red from choking. As she finished the two bottles, the flush spread across her entire face.

“I’m done. Thank you for the tip, Mr. Yates.”
