The Abandoned Wife Dumped Him First (Victoria and Elias) novel Chapter 385

Looking through the car window, she saw a burly, thick-waisted man standing there, shouting for her to get out.

Hawk, who should have been in the driver's seat, was outside, surrounded by two other brawny men. He saw what was happening on her side and wanted to help, but he was too tied up to intervene.

The scene was chaotic.

Victoria, having just woken up, was still too groggy to understand what was happening.

Wasn't she on her way back to Willow Creek Estates?

Who were these people?

Before she could figure it out, Victoria saw two police cars pull up. Two officers quickly got out, batons in hand, and immediately moved to pin the man who had been banging on the window.

“Get off me!”

The man was caught off guard. By the time he realized what was happening, he was already pressed firmly against the car door, his arms twisted behind his back, unable to move.

With a grim expression, an officer shouted, “Stay still!”

But the man acted as if he hadn't heard, struggling desperately while slurring a stream of curses.

Seeing this, the officer didn't hesitate. With a sharp click, he swiftly handcuffed the man. The two officers then flanked him and shoved him into their patrol car.

In an instant, the noisy, chaotic scene fell silent.

Victoria pushed the door open and got out.

As soon as she opened the door, she noticed the strong, acrid smell of alcohol in the air, as well as the white sedan parked crookedly in front of their car.

Hawk exchanged a few words with an officer and then hurried over. “Miss Sanger, are you all right?”

Victoria glanced at the obvious bruise on Hawk's face where he'd been punched. The corner of her mouth twitched almost imperceptibly. She thought to herself that he was the one who wasn't all right, not her.

However, the thought was fleeting, and she didn't say it out loud. Instead, she took a pack of tissues from her pocket and handed it to Hawk, gesturing for him to wipe the trickle of blood from his mouth. She then shook her head and asked, “What happened?”

“Drunk drivers trying to pull a scam.” Hawk's lip was split, and it stung when he spoke, so he kept his explanation brief.
