She Was the Treasure All Along novel Chapter 612

Initially, Alicia had put Loyce in Bloomberry because she genuinely believed the girl couldn't make any waves. She never expected that despite Loyce knowing nothing about design, she would surround herself with incredibly capable people. Loyce had single-handedly turned Bloomberry's fate around while simultaneously ruining Élégance—the brand Alicia had poured her life's blood into!

"Edgar, if Loyce is infiltrating Macrostar's internal ranks just to dismantle us completely, how is this any different from the Lonsdales just forcefully acquiring us?"

"Do you think I don't see that?" Edgar retorted. "But you're forgetting something crucial. Macrostar Production is her parents' legacy. Do you really think she's going to destroy the only thing her parents left her?"

Alicia paused as the realization washed over her, a faint sliver of hope rising in her chest.

...

The dates for Bloomberry's corporate retreat were finalized. Before heading out, Loyce needed to formally report to the Macrostar executive office to decide which department she wanted to 'study' under.

Loyce finally managed to catch up with Lucian Shapiro. He had been swamped for days dealing with a massive multi-billion-dollar contract, and today was the first time he had a free moment to see her.

The two of them brought some food and took a small boat out on the private lake at the Lonsdale Manor.

The sleek white boat drifted lazily toward the center of the lake. Judging they were far enough out, Lucian secured the oars and sat beside her, handing over a sleek folder tied with a delicate pink ribbon.

Loyce eyed the ribbon. "A present?"

"I saw the recent announcements regarding the Lonsdale Group's strategic shift. I figured you're planning to handle Macrostar yourself," Lucian said smoothly. "This is everything you'll need."

Loyce handed him a container of sandwiches in return. "I made tuna sandwiches and sushi."

Lucian pulled out a sandwich, held it up for her to take the first bite, and then took a bite himself.

Munching on the food he offered, Loyce untied the ribbon and pulled out the documents. Inside were detailed reports on several highly contested real estate plots in Metropia—specifically the ones Edgar had been obsessing over recently.

Lucian watched a school of koi swimming beneath the boat's shadow. He tossed a handful of fish food into the water, watching them swarm, and said, "The city is planning to build a new urban landmark at The Belfry. The central zone is already fully developed, so now they're expanding outward. They intend to build an entirely new commercial district with The Belfry as the anchor. Macrostar's primary business is real estate. Edgar won't let an opportunity like this slip by."
