She Was the Treasure All Along novel Chapter 620

When Loyce arrived at the Macrostar headquarters, she was met with an absurdly grandiose reception.

Dozens of employees in sharp business attire had been hastily pulled away from their desks. The lobby echoed with the frantic clicking of dress shoes and heels. They lined up in two perfectly straight rows flanking the entrance, bowing respectfully as Loyce walked in.

"Good morning, Ms. Lonsdale."

The wildly exaggerated display made Loyce stop in her tracks. She glanced at the man stepping forward to greet her, his face plastered with a sycophantic smile.

"Ms. Lonsdale, I'm Jed. I'll be handling your onboarding today. Please, just call me Jed."

"There's no need for this ridiculous circus," Loyce said, her cold gaze sweeping over the rows of visibly uncomfortable employees. "I'm only here to learn the ropes. I'm not here to waste everyone's working hours."

Of course, no one actually believed she was just there to 'learn'. The recent news scandals had been deafening; everyone in the building knew she was there to take over the company.

While the staff respected her ruthless reputation, seeing her up close, they couldn't help but notice how incredibly young she looked.

Jed nodded eagerly, playing along. "Of course, of course. Which department would you like to start your training in? I can show you around."

Loyce cut straight to the chase. "Where is Edgar right now?"

Jed hesitated but answered honestly. "The board of directors is currently in an executive meeting discussing the bidding strategy for the new Belfry landmark plots."

Loyce didn't miss a beat. "He's going after plots A7 and A8, right? I'll go sit in."

Jed froze, shocked that she already knew the highly confidential targets. Panicking, he quickly forced a smile. "That... that might be difficult, ma'am. It's a closed-door meeting with the technical department and the senior board members. I don't have the authority to just bring you in."
