No Divorce? The Billionaire's Love Chase! novel Chapter 27

Sat opposite them, Felix kept his head lowered, saying nothing.

Claudia had been right. Before she had even said a word, her parents were already preparing to move out and return the money. If they knew York was using money to blackmail her, she couldn't imagine how distraught they would be.

Felix stood and pressed the card into his daughter's hand. "Listen to your mother. Give it back to him. In a couple of days, we'll move out and give the apartment back to him, too."

Claudia clutched the bank card, not refusing this time. The truth about her and York would come out eventually. It was better to start clearing the slate now. Besides, even if she tried to hide it, her parents would sense her unhappiness. She was their daughter.

She would pay it back. Whatever she could, she would pay back.

After a moment's hesitation, Claudia spoke. "Dad, I want to go back to studying medicine. Could you introduce me to Old Mr. Moore?"

Her parents were fully supportive of her decision to work. Claudia had originally loved the violin; her biggest dream had been to become a violinist. But when she was eighteen, she discovered York suffered from severe insomnia, so she had secretly changed her major to medicine. Once in medical school, she had her parents pull some strings to transfer her into the traditional medicine program.

After graduating, she married York and gave up her career. But for his sake, she had never stopped researching sleep disorders. Although she had managed to cure York's insomnia and held graduate degrees in both psychology and traditional Chinese medicine, she lacked clinical experience. To make a name for herself in the field of sleep disorders, she would have to start from the beginning.

That afternoon, Claudia accompanied her father to Capital Central Hospital to meet Old Mr. Moore again. He was a leading authority in the nation's traditional medicine community and an international expert on clinical sleep disorders. After retiring, he had been hired back by the hospital at a high salary.

Claudia had been a housewife for three years and was completely out of touch with the medical field. She wanted to become Old Mr. Moore's assistant to get her skills back. Because his son had once been helped by the Watkins family, Old Mr. Moore readily agreed.
