I Walked Away And He Lost His Mind (Zephyra and Steven) novel Chapter 774

I paused. When did I ever say I wasn't leaving? This damn man must have conveniently forgotten the word "temporarily."

Steven's obsidian eyes were fixed on me, his gaze intense, like a small child awaiting a verdict.

I turned my head away. "Steven, I made myself perfectly clear back at the hospital. I said I'd allow you to take care of me for a short time, but I never promised you anything else!"

Steven's thin lips pressed together, a hint of anger flashing across his face. His clenched fists seemed to be suppressing something.

"Zephyra, don't be so stubborn. Don't you want to give our child a complete family?"

Of course, I did. While children from single-parent homes can turn out perfectly fine, that's usually when the father is a total bastard. But if the father is a good person, it would certainly be beneficial for the child's future.

But there was too much history between us. Steven had indeed done a lot for me, and my hatred for him had lessened considerably.

But if Steven was truly the male lead, his life would always be surrounded by drama. I didn't want to get mixed up in it. I just wanted to give birth to my child and raise them in peace.

"I told you, you can visit the child regularly."

"That's not the same!"

Steven's face darkened. "I need to be with my child all the time, to watch him grow up. A lack of fatherly love can affect a child's development. Can you really bear to see our child's psyche affected?"

"..."

Seriously? Just because he'd grow up with me, his psyche would be affected?

Steven seemed to have forgotten that his own mother had once only wanted the child. He didn't seem to think it would affect the child back then.
