I Walked Away And He Lost His Mind (Zephyra and Steven) novel Chapter 804

“…”

I froze, unable to tell if Steven was being serious or not.

I knew I liked to hug a stuffed animal when I slept, but whether I’d actually mistake Steven for one… well, that was anyone’s guess.

I gritted my teeth, at a loss for words.

Steven’s voice softened. “You can’t sleep well without me. So, Zephyra, come home with me.”

His words made me want to laugh out of sheer frustration. He might as well claim the world would stop turning without him.

“Don’t you worry, I’ll sleep even better without you!”

Steven frowned. “No, you won’t. You…”

I cut him off before he could finish. “Enough! If you keep talking, I won’t just lose sleep, I’ll lose my appetite. If you really care about my health, shut up and get out of my way!”

As I spoke, I subconsciously rested a hand on my stomach.

Steven stared at me for a few seconds before taking a step back.

I shot him a triumphant look and walked straight toward the hospital entrance.

Tess, who was already in the car, immediately got out to open the door for me, and I slid inside.

The car pulled away smoothly. I leaned against the window, my thoughts drifting as I watched the scenery blur past.

So much had happened today that I was still struggling to process it all. Beyond the shock of discovering Horace was the one who had drugged me, what terrified me more was his growing paranoia and the cruel glint in his eyes.
