I Walked Away And He Lost His Mind (Zephyra and Steven) novel Chapter 803

Steven was truly stubborn, ignoring my opinion and completely disregarding his own well-being.

Seeing the horrifying wound on his hand, I felt a strange surge of anger.

The moment the elevator doors opened, I pushed him aside and stormed out, but he quickly caught up.

The weather was awful today; the sky had been dark and oppressive since morning.

Uncle Julian hadn't wanted me to go out at all, but I promised I'd be back in under two hours, which finally earned his reluctant approval.

I had no time or desire to get tangled up with Steven; I was worried Uncle Julian would be concerned if I was late.

A wave of heat washed over me the moment I stepped out of the hospital's main entrance.

My pregnancy made the foul smell of the parking garage unbearable, so I'd arranged for the driver to wait at the entrance. The air outside was suffocatingly hot, and I quickened my pace, eager to get back into the car.

Suddenly, a hand clamped down on my wrist. It was Steven. I tried to yank my arm away, but his grip was too strong. “Let go!”

But Steven’s gaze was soft, his voice raspy yet gentle. “Zephyra, come back to the estate with me. It must be awkward staying at your uncle’s place. I can take much better care of you there.”

I couldn't fathom how Steven could hit Horace right in front of me one minute and then, as if nothing had happened, ask me to move back to the estate with him.

Horace’s paranoia was a huge disappointment, but that didn't give Steven the right to interfere and punish him—and certainly not to have me followed to the hospital.

I glared at Steven and scoffed. “Steven, he's my uncle. As for you, you're my ex-husband. Living with *you* is what would be truly inconvenient!”

He frowned. “You're lying. We were getting along perfectly fine. We’re good together!”
