I Walked Away And He Lost His Mind (Zephyra and Steven) novel Chapter 801

Disgusting?

I couldn't believe those words came out of Rachel's mouth.

She didn't even understand the situation and was dumping all the blame on me.

What kind of person did she think I was? Why would I ever bring Steven here to bully Horace!

"Rachel, that's going too far! I want Horace's leg to heal more than anyone. I know you're upset, but you can't just lash out at me. I'm not your punching bag!"

But Rachel just scoffed, her face full of disdain.

"That's easy for you to say. Why don't you just leave, then? Go far away and never come back!"

I was speechless. Rachel's behavior was an exact copy of my past, love-struck self.

At least I hadn't lost my ability to tell right from wrong back then.

"Rachel, snap out of it! Don't be so foolish," I said, trying to calm her down.

But she ground her teeth. "I didn't believe what Verna said before, but now I do. You really are the villainess, and you don't even have the self-awareness to act like one. You're a jinx! Don't you realize you'll bring disaster to all of us?"

Her words were like a knife stabbing me in the heart.

I'm a normal person of flesh and blood. Why was she branding me as a villainess? I just want to be myself, not a side character in someone else's story.

I looked at her coldly. "Since you're so morally superior, why don't we switch names? You can be the villainess you keep talking about. Lock yourself up, or go hide in the mountains and never see anyone again. Let the name Zephyra disappear completely. Wouldn't the world be at peace then?"

After all, according to Verna, we're just characters in a story. It doesn't matter who uses the name Zephyra.

Rachel was choked by my words, clearly not expecting me to say that.
