I Walked Away And He Lost His Mind (Zephyra and Steven) novel Chapter 760

I came back to myself. "I think I just saw Queena."

The memory of my past life's entanglement with Queena still filled me with dread and anxiety. I looked up at Steven, wondering if he even remembered the woman.

Steven's face stiffened, and he followed my gaze. "Are you sure?"

I glanced at him and shook my head slightly. "I only saw her from behind, not her face."

At that, Steven's expression visibly relaxed, and his eyes softened. "You must have been mistaken. Queena wouldn't be here."

His tone was confident, betraying no hint of panic.

I didn't know if his memories of our past life were incomplete, which was why he seemed indifferent to Queena, or if there was some other reason.

I looked at him, confused. "How do you know?"

Steven gazed at me steadily, his eyes full of affection. "You just need to trust that I will do everything I can to protect you and our child."

I didn't press him further. When we got home, I decided to rest for a while as Steven went to his study to handle some work.

But as I lay in bed, the horrifying scene from my past life replayed in my mind: the wrecked car, the pools of blood, and Queena's maniacal laughter.

I screamed and shot up in bed, drenched in a cold sweat. Seeing the familiar furnishings of my room, I realized it had only been a dream. I instinctively clutched my stomach, my heart pounding in my chest.

I told myself it was just a nightmare, but the unease in my heart only grew stronger. Queena was unhinged, her actions completely unpredictable.
