I Walked Away And He Lost His Mind (Zephyra and Steven) novel Chapter 691

Steven sat next to me, unable to get a word in, but he didn’t leave, just quietly sipped his tea.

It made me so uncomfortable that I didn’t dare ask Mr. Taylor any of the personal questions I had in mind.

Suddenly, Mr. Taylor asked, “Have you told your family about the amnesia?”

I answered instinctively, “I’m not on good terms with my family, so no.”

Mr. Taylor’s gaze drifted pointedly toward Steven. Steven met his eyes and offered him a cup of hot tea. “Mr. Taylor, please, have some tea.”

The warning in his eyes was clear, but Mr. Taylor wasn't intimidated in the slightest. “Your immediate family situation was always a bit complicated,” he said coolly. “But your grandfather’s family is wonderful, and he adores you. It’s just amnesia, your health is otherwise fine. You should give him a call so he doesn’t worry himself sick.”

“My grandfather?” I looked at Steven, surprised. He had never told me I had a grandfather.

Steven explained in a low voice, “Your grandfather isn’t well, and there are some issues at home. We deliberately kept it from him to avoid any shock that might cause a relapse.”

Then he added, “Zephyra, your design materials are all upstairs. Why don’t you go take a look and get started? I need to discuss some business with Mr. Taylor.”

Seeing that Mr. Taylor didn’t object, I took my phone and went upstairs.

When I came downstairs with a few rough sketches, only Steven was left in the living room. I asked, confused, “Where’s Mr. Taylor?”

Steven’s eyes were fixed on my face. “It got late. He had a long journey, so I had someone take him to his hotel to rest.”

“Oh, right,” I said, suddenly realizing. My mentor had just flown in from overseas and came straight to the villa to see me after such a long flight, yet all I could think about was work. I felt a pang of guilt. “Did he eat? Has he reached the hotel? I should order some food for him.”

“It’s all taken care of.”

I nodded. He took my hand and pulled me down to sit beside him, his voice low. “Are you angry that I didn’t tell you about your grandfather’s family?”
