Warner relaxed, a genuine smile gracing his lips. "Alright."
Their interaction was natural, like two new friends getting to know each other.
But David couldn't shake the feeling that something about the atmosphere was... off. Hard to put a finger on it.
Besides, he'd never seen his young master act this way with anyone before.
It was like... he was actively exuding charm, a kind of magnetic pull.
This side of him was rare, to say the least.
Just the sight of him sitting under the locust tree, a slight smile playing on his lips as he tugged at his collar, was enough to make anyone's heart skip a beat.
A bold thought struck David: could his young master... have fallen for Cure-Master?
He didn't dare dwell on the thought and kept his head bowed.
Meanwhile, Mrs. Yates Sr. had boiled the water and called them over to brew some herbal remedies.
The old woman was delighted that Rosalind’s friend was staying for dinner. She happily listed off what she needed to buy and headed out with Mrs. Zade, taking Galeno with them this time.
Rosalind adjusted the temperature in the herbal treatment room, showing the man inside to lie down while she looked up a few things online.
Before long, the old ladies returned with their groceries.
As soon as she entered the courtyard, Mrs. Zade whispered mysteriously, "Rosalind, I think this place is really going to be demolished!"
"Where are you getting this from now, Mrs. Zade?" Rosalind chuckled.
Mrs. Zade lowered her voice. "I saw it with my own eyes. There's a luxury car parked just outside our alley, near the market! I asked Galeno, and he said it's worth over a million."
Rosalind glanced at Galeno, who was holding the grocery basket.
Galeno made a gesture.
Rosalind's brow furrowed. "A Maybach?"
Galeno nodded.
Rosalind had expected the Turner family to show up, but not this soon.
It didn't matter, though. Her job was to treat people. If they came to her, she couldn't just turn them away.
Hadn't Grandma Megan said Rosalind knew nothing about medicine? Besides, Rosalind had given them neck rubs before, and she clearly didn't know what she was doing.
Rosalind was right; it was a patient. But this was a special case—Fabian had come on their behalf. He looked at Rosalind, his voice trembling with urgency. "Rosalind, do you have a moment?"
Rosalind thought for a moment. "I do, but you'll have to wait."
Fabian nodded immediately. "Of course!"
Rosalind went inside, grabbed her black bag, and turned to Galeno. "The patient in the treatment room—don't charge him. Don't let him pay with his card. You're making dinner tonight."
Hearing this, Galeno's cheeks puffed out in a pout, but he obediently agreed.
Rosalind patted his head. "Remember to ask him to stay for dinner. His situation is special."
Galeno nodded his head.
Still uneasy, Rosalind left a note for him before she left.
She wondered who it was and what had happened to make Fabian so frantic...
