Go Back and I Rule There novel Chapter 87

Hearing the word “invitation,” David’s eyes darted over.

Warner remained composed. “You could say that.”

Rosalind’s eyes were strikingly beautiful. “Trying to do a good deed without taking credit?”

Warner coughed, his voice still a bit hoarse. “My health is poor, so the invitation would be wasted on me. I couldn’t go anyway. Better to give it to a doctor like you.”

Rosalind raised an eyebrow. “Did it not occur to you to try your luck? The Turner family invited so many famous doctors; surely one of them could have cured you.”

Warner looked down, his long eyelashes casting a shadow. “I had considered it before. But after meeting you, I felt it was no longer necessary.”

His words hung in the air, stunning everyone.

David dropped the wooden bucket.

Rosalind’s hand, in the middle of pouring tea, froze.

Even Galeno, who was practicing his horse stance, straightened up abruptly, his round, fierce eyes fixed on the handsome man.

Warner seemed to realize his words were too ambiguous and clarified with a frown, “I was referring to your medical skills.”

“I know,” Rosalind said with a casual smile. “Have a seat. I’ll go get something.”

Warner did as she asked, picking up the teacup on the stone table.

David noticed that the clinic seemed to have a magical effect. As soon as Mr. Turner entered the courtyard, all his usual fastidiousness vanished. He didn’t even seem to care if the tea was good or not; his mysophobia was as good as cured.

When Rosalind went inside, her grandmother was still on the phone, repeating herself for what seemed like the hundredth time.

“Don’t you worry, Rosalind has a wonderful temperament. She’s very receptive to teaching. She won’t take up too much of your time.”

“What did you say? You’re afraid of her?”
