Go Back and I Rule There novel Chapter 8

Rosalind couldn't make out his face, but as a doctor, her nose was highly sensitive to the scent of medicinal herbs.

The moment the car window rolled down, a faint aroma of herbs drifted out…

Having studied classical texts on herbal medicine, Rosalind knew that people with chronic illnesses were often sensitive to light.

Jason urged, “Mr. Steward Turner, perhaps you should go see the boss now?”

The boy was torn. He turned to Rosalind. “Wait for me, okay? Don’t go anywhere. I’ll be right back.”

Rosalind nodded.

The boy then hurried towards the car.

Jason remained behind and offered her a card. “Thank you for saving our young master, Ms. Martinez. Please accept this as a token of our gratitude.”

“You know my name is Martinez? So you do know me.” A playful smile touched Rosalind's lips, her eyes curving. “This doesn't feel like a thank you. It feels more like you’re in a hurry to get rid of me.”

Jason’s hand froze for a second. “You’ve misunderstood, Ms. Martinez.”

“It doesn’t matter.” Rosalind glanced towards the boy. “Tell him I left.”

With that, she stretched her long legs and stood up from the steps, not once looking back.

Jason breathed a sigh of relief. He had been genuinely worried that this fake heiress, recently cast out by the Yates family, would try to latch onto their young master.

In the fading light, Rosalind strode away, her black bag in hand. She had tied her hair up with a simple pin, and the evening glow enveloped her in a warm halo. Her retreating figure was both strikingly beautiful and coolly defiant.

Inside the Maybach, the man turned his head just in time to catch this final glimpse. He gently stroked the little boy’s head, a hint of a smile in his voice. “So that’s the one who saved you?”

“The one? Where?” The little boy sat up straight, then cried out in alarm, “Why did she leave? Jason!”

Jason approached the car and bowed his head. “Young Master.”
