Mr. Lopez’s eyes bulged.

Was she actually going to pick Mr. Turner as her live subject?

How could she dare! Was she so young that she had a death wish?

Mr. Lopez shifted, trying to make himself more conspicuous. “Well, uh, maybe you could pick…”

Before he could get the word “me” out, Rosalind, still wearing her mask, had already strolled over to the man.

The balding Mr. Lopez then realized that this young woman was actually taller than him!

Rosalind was slender and long-legged, standing at 5’8”. Her eyes were captivating, giving her a coolly intense beauty. Standing next to Warner, the atmosphere became strangely charged.

It was because their auras were polar opposites—one serene, the other intense. It was like an ascetic monk meeting a worldly enchantress.

Warner radiated a noble brilliance. As Rosalind approached, a twilight chill crept into his eyes.

Rosalind stopped, maintaining a polite social distance. Then she removed her surgical mask, revealing a stunningly beautiful face, with lips that were red without lipstick and a beauty mark just below the corner of her eye. When she smiled faintly, it was both cool and gentle. “You must be the family member, right?”

Mr. Lee was about to shout, ‘you’ve got the wrong person!’

But then, Mr. Turner cleared his throat, a faint scent of medicine wafting from him as he spoke in a low, cool voice, “You could say that.”

Yes is yes, no is no. What was ‘you could say that’ supposed to mean?

Rosalind raised an eyebrow, all business. “Whatever. You’ll do. You can stand in for the patient’s family to understand the treatment process, since no one signed the consent forms.”

“Actually…” Mr. Lee started to say.

But a crisp, “Alright,” from Warner cut him off.

Not just Mr. Lee, but even the Turner family’s bodyguard who had just arrived, froze in place!
