Go Back and I Rule There novel Chapter 20

“Who are you?” The Martinez physician turned at the sound of her voice.

He saw a young woman with long hair, chewing on a piece of candy. She didn't look very old, but her beauty was impossible to ignore.

She had a cool, refined air, with a single beauty mark near the corner of her eye. Perhaps because her eyes were so dark, her gaze carried an intense, commanding presence.

Mr. Lee quickly interjected, “she’s the young miracle…”

“Nonsense!”

Before Mr. Lee could finish, a cold voice cut him off.

“It’s you again, you greedy little girl.” The tardy Mrs. Gonzalez Sr. shot Rosalind a look, her face darkening. “Couldn’t get the money, so you came to the hospital to run a scam, is that it?”

She then shouted, “Who let this person in? Doesn’t anyone check visitors?”

At her outburst, the doctor on duty rushed over. “Professor Gonzalez, it’s a misunderstanding. These people are with the patient. His condition is critical right now; we need you to see him immediately.”

With the patient?

So they knew this brat?

Just some poor relatives pretending to be from Prax. What a waste of her time.

“Clear the room first,” Mrs. Gonzalez Sr. ordered haughtily.

Mr. Lee frowned. “No, we have to stay.”

Mrs. Gonzalez Sr. replied coldly, “I don’t like having an audience when I work. If you can’t accept that, you’re free to cancel my appointment.”

Did they really think she wanted to work overtime? To treat just anyone?

Mr. Lee’s eyes were red with anger. “I’ll listen to you! And I’m begging you, you have to pull him back from the brink of death. Please!”

The Martinez family physician, seeing his friend's desperation, was now about seventy or eighty percent convinced of Rosalind’s abilities.

Mrs. Gonzalez Sr.’s tone was scornful. “You can’t possibly believe a layperson like her can save him, can you? My goodness, how uneducated can you be?”

“Dr. Gonzalez is right. Please don’t be rash,” the on-duty doctor said. He had nothing against Rosalind but felt that a young girl like her was simply not credible. “You know the old gentleman’s condition is very complex. You and I are powerless. What could she possibly do?”

Hearing this, Rosalind glanced down, fiddling with her watch. Her voice was serene. “The patient’s condition began with harsh breathing and a high fever of unknown origin, which then progressed to an irritating dry cough, blood in his throat, and a distinct tightness in his chest. By now, he should be losing consciousness.”

Every single symptom was correct.

The on-duty doctor’s eyes flew wide open.
