Go Back and I Rule There novel Chapter 159

Back at the apothecary on Tulip Lane.

Rosalind was still toying with the amethyst pendant she’d gotten from Warner. Something felt off about her today.

It wasn't just her volatile temper, but also this strangely familiar amethyst.

In her memories, this should have been her possession. How did it end up as his personal pendant?

It was too chaotic. Rosalind pressed her fingertips to her temples, her bright eyes flickering.

She could indeed recall bits and pieces of her past now, but they were mostly fragmented images.

It seemed she would have to wait. Rosalind re-fastened the amethyst pendant and ran a finger over her lips. What exactly was in her patient’s blood that could make even her feel so unsettled?

Rosalind had honed her medical skills primarily by experimenting on herself.

And experimenting on oneself naturally involved both beneficial and harmful substances.

What’s more, she cultivated Celestial Nettle.

By all rights, she should have been immune to any poison by now.

Unless… what he carried was more than just a simple toxin.

Rosalind’s long fingers tapped a rhythm on the table, a slow smile playing on her lips. “Interesting.”

He truly was a man marked by the Grim Reaper.

She wondered who Death favored more—him or that Turner heir.

But one thing was certain: when she decided to save someone, no one could stand in her way.

Sean’s irritation grew. “That’s my mother! I’ve told you before, don’t take things too far! You wouldn’t listen, you just had to kick her out and send her back to that alley!”

“Me? Taking things too far?” Rachel’s face flushed with anger. “Your mother was so high and mighty back then, getting old but refusing to give you a position in the company, insisting you had no talent for management and would ruin the Yates Group. If it wasn’t for her malpractice scandal, she’d be even more arrogant. You wouldn’t be living so comfortably now!”

Sean waved a dismissive hand. “Why do you keep bringing up the past?”

“I bring it up so you don’t forget. You agreed to let her take the fall.” Rachel’s smile was icy. “If she hadn’t made that sacrifice, do you think they would have let the Yates Group off the hook?”

At that, Rachel laughed again. “How could I forget? An old woman who killed a patient with her medicine… what right does she have to host a livestream?”

With that, she took out her phone, ready to make a call.

Sean stopped her, his expression weary. “Forget it. That young man with Rosalind today… he’s clearly not someone to mess with. I couldn’t tell where he’s from, but he felt dangerous.”

“What kind of connections could that girl have?” Rachel scoffed. “If he had any real status, he would have driven here. You saw it yourself when we left the alley—there wasn’t a single car parked at the entrance. He’s probably just some broke guy she met somewhere, not a single brand name on him.”
