Go Back and I Rule There novel Chapter 150

The voice in her ear was like fine wine, intoxicating and enchanting.

His hand, unlike the rest of him, was surprisingly scorching hot.

From her position, Rosalind couldn't see his face, only feel the warm breath on the back of her neck, sending a tingling sensation through her.

He didn't smoke, so there was no trace of tobacco on him. Instead, a faint scent of sandalwood, likely from his long-term use of medicine, wafted over, oddly captivating.

She was always around medicinal herbs, but only the scent on him seemed so unusually pleasant.

His hand was still holding hers, and as he leaned down slightly, his presence became even more intense, impossible to ignore.

Rosalind felt a strange, familiar flutter in her heart, something she couldn't quite place.

Warner rubbed his fingertips together, savoring the lingering warmth, his gaze fixed on the girl's face. He smiled slowly and whispered his consent, "Alright."

"Smith." Rosalind propped her chin on one hand, a slight smile on her lips. "Why don't you tell me who your boss is first, and then I'll decide whether or not to break up with him?"

"My boss is, of course… whoa, can you read minds or something?" Smith flailed, his eyes darting around.

"My boss never mentioned you had that superpower!" Smith looked like he was about to cry. "I'm done for. Knowing his methods, I won't survive the night!"

Rosalind glanced at Smith. "He seems quite reasonable. Why do you make him sound so tyrannical?"

Reasonable?! Smith once again questioned his grasp of the language. "That must be just for you. With us, the boss is..."

"Is what?" Rosalind's interest was genuinely piqued. Her handsome patient was always so gentle, thoughtful, and considerate. Why were his subordinates so afraid of him?

First David, and now this Smith. Something was off…
