"Mr. Bright, this is the place."
The high-end luxury van stopped at an intersection.
Fitch looked suspiciously at the narrow, old stone alley, his brow furrowed. "You sure?"
Why would the boss be in a place like this?
There was even a wet market next to it, with old folks haggling over prices.
Since entering the business world, Fitch had never set foot in such a place.
Yves replied, "This is indeed Tulip Lane. Or would Mr. Bright prefer to find someone at the hospital across the street?"
"Hospital? No, no." Fitch pointed at the alley. "This is it. As long as the place is right."
There was no way the boss would be at a hospital. She was lazy and disliked the smell of blood.
With that, Fitch hopped out of the car, followed by a line of black-suited bodyguards.
The way they carried themselves, anyone would think he was a mobster, radiating a thuggish aura.
Even with a smile, Fitch didn't look like a good guy. "Sir, let me ask you, do you know where Veritas Medical is?"
The grocery-shopping Mr. Parker trembled and swerved his cart. "I don't know!"
Fitch paused, touching his face and asking Yves, "Am I that scary?"
"Mr. Bright's presence is very powerful," Yves replied, ever the business school graduate with his impeccable phrasing.
Fitch smacked his lips and grinned. "Then that old man definitely knows. Follow him."
Of course, Mr. Parker knew. Veritas Medical was right across from his house. He had just received some fish from Rosalind this morning. He had to hurry back and warn her that bad guys were here!
The black-suited bodyguards advanced menacingly, drawing stares from the old folks shelling vegetables.
Sean, who had followed them, hastily paid his cab fare, only to realize this was none other than the rundown alley where his own mother lived.
"Why would Mr. Bright come to a place like this?"
Sean was utterly perplexed. Muttering to himself, he hurried forward.
