Seeing how stubborn she was, Sean became annoyed. “Mom! You caused a patient's death once. That incident finally blew over after twenty years of silence, and now you’re deliberately drawing attention to yourself again! Do you want to bring down the entire Yates family with you?!”
Mrs. Yates Sr. raised her cane, ready to strike him!
Sean handed her a card. “Mom, you’re not young anymore. Don’t be so headstrong. I know you don’t like listening to Rachel, but she’s my wife.”
Mrs. Yates Sr. clenched her teeth, her hands trembling with pain and anger. “I’d rather not have you as a son.”
“Mom, don’t say things you don’t mean,” Sean said, trying to steady her. “Did the Turner family return Celestial Nettle? Mom, listen to me, my company is really struggling right now. Can you give it to me?”

He never even appeared, let alone fulfilled his duties as a son.
They say you raise children to care for you in your old age. What kind of care was this?
“Then let it go bankrupt,” Mrs. Yates Sr. said, her voice calm. “It’s your company now.”
Sean froze, his eyes widening in disbelief. “Mom, what are you saying?”
Megan was busy as usual, changing the sheets on a bed after seeing a patient.
Galeno tilted his head and gestured: Grandma seems okay.
Rosalind hummed in agreement and walked closer to her.
Without turning around, Megan spoke with her back to them. “Rosalind, I don’t have a son anymore. And that’s fine.”
Rosalind stopped and wrapped an arm around her shoulder. “You still have me and Galeno. Isn’t he enough to keep you busy? He scared all the fish to death at the market again today when we went grocery shopping. Look how much the owner made us pay.”
Megan, hearing this, forgot all about her sadness. She spun around with raised eyebrows. “Galeno, what is wrong with you?!”
Galeno clutched a fish, a look of pure innocence on his face. …
