Rosalind smiled faintly. “It’s my grandmother. She wants to know what you’d like to eat so she can make it for you when you get back.”
Warner sensed that Cure-Master was different today. “Grandma?”
Rosalind’s gaze was steady. “She’s right next to me.”
Mrs. Yates Sr., having been mentioned, felt a embarrassed and rubbed her nose, muttering, “I was just worried you were lying to me.”
Rosalind smiled. “So, do you believe me now?”
Mrs. Yates Sr. nodded, her eyes filled with joy.
It was said that Mr. Turner was the sharpest mind in the Turner family.
It was certainly true. After hearing just two sentences, Warner’s lips curved into a smile. “Grandma, what did she lie to you about?”
He didn't call her Mrs. Yates Sr., but followed Rosalind’s lead, calling her Grandma.
This made Mrs. Yates Sr. lower her guard even more. “It was all my foolish thinking. Rosalind said you two were dating, and I didn’t believe her.”
“Dating…” Warner’s gaze fell on her exquisitely beautiful face. He spoke slowly, his eyes filled with amusement.
Mrs. Yates Sr. was confused. “Is that not right?”
Just as Rosalind was about to speak, Warner spoke again, his voice a low chuckle. “Yes, we are dating. She’s finally decided to stop hiding me. She said it was a probationary period and told me not to tell anyone.”
He’s laying it on a bit thick, Rosalind thought, the corner of her eye twitching.
Mrs. Yates Sr. disapproved. “Rosalind, that’s not right of you. Why would you hide your boyfriend? When you’re dating someone, you should be open about it.”
Warner let out a soft cough, his voice growing a husky as he lowered his lashes. “She just wanted to focus on her studies first, so you wouldn’t have to worry.”
Mrs. Yates Sr. felt a pang of sympathy and reassured him, “I don’t worry about Rosalind being with you. You two should date normally. I’m not some old-fashioned prude.”
Warner finally looked up and smiled. “With your blessing, Grandma, I can rest easy.”
Rosalind: …
“Grandma, let me have a word with him.” If she let him keep spinning this tale, it would be impossible to untangle later.
But Mrs. Zade looked like she was watching her favorite romance drama. “A young couple needs to have their private chats.”
