Xavier handed her a box and said, "I've never given a gift to a girl before. Norah helped me pick this out. On behalf of all the brothers in the store, and of Wolf and of others: Happy birthday!"
"Who's Wolf?" Norah asked curiously.
Xavier glared at her and laughed, "Don't ask questions that kids shouldn't ask!"
Norah pouted and huffed.
Estelle took the gift and nodded solemnly: "Thank you."
Simone's indifference and rejection made her feel a little cold before, but now she doesn't care anymore. Even if her own parents didn't like her, there were still so many people around her who loved her!
She felt content.
Henson took the knife and asked her to cut the cake. Just as Estelle was about to cut it, Henson suddenly grabbed some cream and smeared it on her face.
Instinctively, Estelle dodged to the side, avoiding Henson's hand, and laughed, "Can I at least have a piece of cake before we start messing around? Don't waste it."
Norah laughed, "Other people's birthday cakes are for showing off, but Estelle's cake is definitely for eating!"
It seemed like everyone knew about her love for sweets.
Henson rolled his eyes and thought of a good idea. He suddenly looked at the door and said, "Uncle Jonathan, why are you here?"
As Estelle turned her head, Henson took the opportunity to smear her face with cream, laughing, "You said not to waste it!"
Luckily, Estelle reacted quickly. Although she was distracted for a moment, she managed to avoid most of the cream, and only a little was smeared on her face. . Everyone else joined in, and the room became a scene of chaos.
Even Zachary and the others joined the battle.
Estelle managed to save the bottom layer of the cake in the midst of the chaos and hid to one side, keeping half for herself and giving the other half to Xavier, who was watching the commotion.
Estelle thought of something else and looked at Norah and Sallie. They were all chasing and playing, laughing happily. Norah's attitude towards her hadn't changed, and it seemed she didn't know that Estelle was from the Macclain family, thinking she and Hans were just gaming buddies.
The two banquet halls on the second floor were both hosting birthday parties, but the atmosphere was completely different. One was filled with elites and merchants, with the party going on quietly and elegantly. The other was full of young people, with laughter never stopping.
The sky had completely darkened, and now the colored lights on the corridor outside the building lit up one by one. The words on them were also revealed, and the trees in the distant garden were specially decorated with blessing lights. Looking further ahead, the entire Sapphire Hotel's eaves and edges were adorned with blinking colored lights. All the lights formed lines of blessings, making the scene both magical and spectacular.
The guests in Carmella's birthday banquet hall saw the lights first. When they saw the Macclain family's name, they naturally thought it was for Carmella's celebration and gathered at the window to watch, exclaiming, "Mrs. Macclain, Miss Carmella, come and look!"
"Happy birthday, Estelle!"
"A lot of lights, so beautiful!"
"The whole yard is lit up! Mr. and Mrs. Macclain really went all out, did they book the entire Sapphire Hotel?"
Everyone gasped in amazement, and it took them about five or six seconds to realize that the blessings were for Estelle, not Carmella!
