Find Me In Your Labyrinth novel Chapter 459

Charlie asked directly, "Did Crystal say something to you?"

Emily lowered her head and didn't speak.

Charlie paused briefly, instructing the driver to turn around. He then addressed Emily, "I'll arrive at your place in approximately ten minutes. Come downstairs, and we can have a face-to-face conversation."

With that, he ended the call.

Emily stared at her phone, a wave of regret washing over her. She realized that her impulsive decision to call had potentially worsened the situation instead of resolving it.

A few minutes later, she went out the door, not alerting Crystal, and quietly went downstairs alone.

She waited downstairs for a minute when Charlie's car pulled up in front of her. The window rolled down and Charlie sat in the back, looking at Emily and saying, "Get in!"

Emily walked around to the other side and got in the car.

Charlie's complexion turned pale as he questioned, "What did Crystal say to you?"

Emily shook her head and responded, "It's not her fault. It was our mistake for using your wine without asking for permission."

Charlie sneered, "Did she claim that I look down on her and despise you all, which is why I discarded the wine?"

Feeling uneasy, Emily replied, "Regardless, it was our fault. I'm willing to compensate for it."

Charlie's expression grew darker, and he stated, "Emily, we've known each other for quite some time now. Don't you understand the kind of person I am? Do you truly think I care about a bottle of wine?"

She looked at the shameless words and pictures Crystal sent, feeling her head buzzing. She didn't say anything, couldn't even say a word, put down her phone, got out of the car, and strode towards the building!

As Emily ascended the stairs, her complexion was pallid, and her hands trembled with a mix of emotions. She approached Crystal's door and knocked, intending to confront her.

However, when Crystal opened the door and Emily saw her face, a wave of disgust washed over her, rendering her unable to articulate the questions she had in mind.

Emily carefully reflected on the past two days. She realized that Crystal had been lounging on the couch, indulging in shows and idle conversations, without making any substantial meals for her. Most of the meals consisted of takeout, purchased with Emily's own money.

Yet, whenever Crystal learned that Charlie was coming over, her demeanor would instantly transform. She would proactively go grocery shopping, meticulously apply makeup, and try on different outfits.

Seeing Emily standing at the door without saying a word, Crystal looked at her puzzled and asked, "What's the matter? Why are you silent?"
