Find Me In Your Labyrinth novel Chapter 1638

Gavin chuckled, "You don't know me well enough; I'm always attentive to beauties."

Maggie raised an eyebrow, "Seems I'm not beautiful enough then!"

Gavin teased, "It’s more like I hadn’t noticed your beauty before"

"Mr. Gavin, you're such a sweet talker!" Maggie smirked, leaning in closer, "Mr. Gavin, do you have a crush on Emily?"

Gavin laughed, "Because I bought her desserts? Can't you think bigger?"

Maggie took a bite of her cookie, playfully joked, "Do you know what Tracy told me before she left?"

"What did she say?" Gavin responded, cradling his cup of coffee, leaned against the bar counter and looked up.

"Tracy told me that Mr. James likes Emily!" She widened her eyes, looking at Gavin with curiosity, "Mr. Gavin, is what Tracy said true?"

Gavin smiled, "Do you know why Mr. James likes Emily?"

Maggie shook her head, "No."

"Because," Gavin smirked, "Emily doesn't gossip!"

Maggie felt a bit awkward, "So, you think I talk too much!"

Gavin smiled enigmatically, "When you work with Mr. James, it's better to speak less and do more, keep a low profile. Then, you'll earn his favor. That's my advice to you!"

A touch of embarrassment flickered across Maggie’s face, but she quickly replaced it with a sweet smile, reaching for the cheesecake on the table.

Gavin stepped back a little, "I'm sorry, this one's for Emily!"

Maggie looked even more embarrassed. She gave a faint smile to Gavin, and left with her cookie.

As Emily came over after finishing her work, Gavin handed her the cheesecake, saying, "Be careful around Maggie, she's no pushover."

Emily just laughed it off, not taking it too seriously.

Charlie reviewed the two documents. His eyebrows furrowed, asking, "Isn't this Emily's responsibility?"

Maggie hurriedly explained, "Yes. Emily asked me to bring them to you for your signature."

Charlie's grip on his pen tightened, and his expression grew even more distant. He didn't say anything, just quickly signed the documents.

Did she dislike him so much that she didn’t even want to enter his office?

On the day before the long weekend for Thanksgiving, Emily handed in her resignation letter to Charlie for his signature.

"I've sorted out all my pending work and handed it over to Maggie. She's been in the company longer than I have and she is really smart. She quickly got the hang of it and she will be a great asset to you in the future."

Emily stood in front of the office desk, her long eyelashes half cast, explaining softly.

Over the past few weeks, she had sorted out all her work, handing over tasks to Maggie where necessary and entrusting Gavin’s task to his assistant.

Emily was thorough in all her preparations, and Charlie knew she was determined to leave. He didn't say anything, just took her resignation and signed it.
