Find Me In Your Labyrinth novel Chapter 1367

Emily pressed her lips together, dropping her gaze.

"I was wrong, I lost my temper, and I yelled at you in front of Kya. I apologize!" Charlie said in a low voice.

Emily's throat tightened, she shook her head and after a while, she said, "No, I don't blame you. I know you're looking out for me and Kya. You're right, it's my fault, I failed to protect Kya."

Charlie frowned, saying, "I can't help but get angry when I hear people mocking you. Because it's Elliott's wedding today, I've been biting my tongue. You don't have to fight back, just stand behind me. But you can't stop me from taking action."

Emily looked up at him, "Charlie, we see things differently. You stood up to those people for me and Kya, but I need to consider Elliott's situation. If it were someone else bullying Kya, I would do everything to protect her. But today is Elliott's wedding, I need to think about the consequences. Please try to understand."

Charlie was both angry and sad. He reached out and caressed Emily's head, "Why is it always you who has to compromise in your family issues?"

Emily's eyes were calm as she said softly, "This is all I can do for Elliott."

"Emily, you're such a blockhead!" Charlie couldn't help but pull her into his arms.

Emily clutched at his shirt, "I'm so sorry for earlier!"

She should never hurt those who treat her well.

"Don't always tick me off. If you really drive me away, I wonder who else will take care of you!" Charlie muttered.

Emily's heart ached like it was being bitten by ants, and she whispered, "I don't want my foolishness to affect you in any way, so you should stay away from me."

"Can't you be a bit smarter?" Charlie frowned.

"That's a tough one!" Emily looked troubled.

Charlie couldn't help but laugh, his heart was soft.

Emily blushed and quietly ate her food.

After dinner, Emily cleaned up the table while Charlie and Kya continued to play with blocks in the living room. By the time she was done cleaning, Charlie and Kya were having fun and Charlie didn't seem to want to leave.

Considering what happened earlier, Emily didn't dare to let him go.

"Mom, come play with us," Kya invited her.

Emily walked over to see a massive Lego castle on the carpet. The prince and princess stood together, looking down at their subjects.

Kya asked Emily to sit down and handed her the Lego princess. Then she handed the Lego prince to Charlie and excitedly said, "Today, the prince and princess are getting married, and I'm the flower girl."

Emily sighed, knowing Kya must be disappointed about not being a flower girl at the wedding. That's probably why she couldn't stop thinking about it.
