Find Me In Your Labyrinth novel Chapter 1228

Estelle suddenly clicked that Jonathan was a big-shot investor, the one who'd bought the rights to Mr. Tucker's TV series. So, his showing up here wasn't weird at all.

It's just that they hadn't seen each other in a couple of weeks, and this sudden encounter caught her off guard.

"This is the Director Sun I was telling you about," Mr. Tucker introduced to Estelle.

Estelle snapped out of it and greeted Director Sun.

"I've heard a lot about you, Ms. McClain. I hope we can work together sometime!" Director Sun, a skinny guy in his forties, looked at Estelle with a smile.

Estelle smiled back, "Sure thing!"

"Everyone, please take a seat!"

Estelle and Mr. Tucker took the empty seats. The table could accommodate around thirty people, with Jonathan in the prime spot and Estelle sitting opposite him.

Looking around, Estelle noted around twenty people in the private dining room. Apart from Mr. Tucker and Director Sun, all were TV investors, dressed to the nines, looking sharp, and accompanied by beautiful women.

It seemed to be a business gathering. Although Estelle and Mr. Tucker were seated in unobtrusive spots, they still felt a bit out of place.

After sitting down, Estelle found herself next to Mr. Tucker. She had assumed Director Sun would be on her other side to discuss movie stuff, but instead, a stranger was sitting there.

And Director Sun was two seats away.

Estelle figured Director Sun was supposed to sit there, so she didn't think much of it.

The guy next to her, in his thirties, was wearing a light blue shirt and a million-dollar watch. He had chubby cheeks, faint eyebrows, and droopy eyes, and he smiled at Estelle. "Ms. McClain, what would you like to drink?"

Estelle was taken aback by his familiarity and realized she didn't know him.

"Let me toast to you first, bottoms up!" David said this and downed his drink.

Estelle looked at the juice in her glass and didn't touch it.

Mr. Tucker had been watching the situation. After all, Estelle was his guest and quite a looker. He was used to these rich kids' antics.

Seeing Estelle's discomfort, Mr. Tucker handed her a cocktail and said, "David's having a drink; you can't just have juice, Estelle. But since you're not much of a drinker, have this."

He placed the cocktail in front of her.

Estelle gave Mr. Tucker a grateful look, picked up the cocktail, and took a sip in response to David.

Unfazed by Estelle's wariness, David used the discussion about the movie to get close to her, showing off his expensive watch, Ferrari keys, and gold cufflinks every now and then.
