Find Me In Your Labyrinth novel Chapter 1131

"I used to come to work just for the obligation of being a doctor, but ever since I met you, I look forward to working every day." Dr. Martin stared at her sincerely, "Both my parents worked for the government and are now retired. I'm thirty this year. I had a girlfriend before, but we broke up two years ago. I own my house and a car worth twenty grand. Besides work, I'm into sports. I'm a bit of a neat freak, but I don't have any other bad habits."

"Dr. Martin!" Emily interrupted him, "Do you realize what you're saying?"

"Of course I do. I know I may not be the best guy out there, but I'll give you all. I think we're a good match."

Emily had her eyes closed for a while. She found it absurd and calmly said, "You don't know me. You don't know my family or my past."

"What about your past?" Dr. Martin asked.

Emily said, "I have a gambling addict father. Even though he's been gone for three years, he could show up anytime and mess up my life. And I have a daughter!"

Dr. Martin was stunned. After a while, he asked in surprise, "Have you been married?"

"No." Emily's lips were tightly closed.

Unmarried but with a child, Dr. Martin naturally understood what was happening.

He didn't expect this innocent girl to have a child.

"And the father of the child?"

Emily's eyes dimmed, "We'd broken up."

"So you're really a fool. Why did you give birth to the child?" Dr. Martin frowned, feeling a bit of pity.

Did Dr. Martin really have feelings for her?

When Charlie James said so before, she didn't believe it. She didn't expect him to be so observant!

She gave a bitter smile, feeling lucky that her mom could be discharged today, or it would be really awkward if she saw Dr. Martin again!

Back to the ward after finishing the paperwork, Emily heard her brother's voice just as she opened the door, "Mr. James, you must be very busy. You really didn't have to come."

"Emily and I are friends, it's the least I could do. No need to be polite."

The man's voice was calm and gentle, but Emily's face changed instantly. She burst into the room.
