Sebastian had just called Brandon, telling him not to let Bella know.
But the moment he turned around, Brandon spilled the beans with a gloating expression.
Bella’s face visibly darkened.
She quickly wiped away a tear and stood up. "What did you say? Sebastian was at our gate?"
Before Brandon could even answer, she grabbed a tissue, wiped her face, and started heading for the door.
Brandon lounged on the sofa like he owned the place. Just as Bella was about to step outside, he said, "Don't bother. He's long gone. By the time you get out there, he'll be miles away."
As he spoke, Brandon popped a grape into his mouth.
This was incredibly satisfying.
But Brandon's words revealed a crucial piece of information: the marriage negotiations between Sebastian and Bella were not going well at all. In fact, it sounded like the whole thing could fall apart at any moment.
Until now, everyone in the Mercer family had thought the wedding was a done deal.
No one had expected such a sudden turn of events.
The mood in the room soured, but to Brandon, the grapes tasted especially sweet today.
After he finished eating, he saw Bella return to her seat and suddenly burst out laughing.
Naturally, all eyes turned to him.
"I remember the Blake elders are very fond of Lillian. Why don't you go ask her for some tips? See what she did right to win over such a picky pair?"
Bella was already upset. The fact that the Blake elders had stormed out without giving her any respect was frustrating enough.
Then, hearing that Sebastian had come by only to leave abruptly made her heart sink even further.
