Ethan only had to endure the flight to international waters. Once there, he would hand them off to the ship, and his job would be done.
Mr. and Mrs. Bennett suddenly spoke up. "Mr. Hayes, we're traveling abroad, but none of us speak a lick of a foreign language. What are we going to do when we get there?"
Ethan sneered inwardly. *So you finally realized you don't speak the language. You wait until you're on the plane to ask.*
But despite his internal mocking, his expression remained perfectly professional.
"Don't worry," he said patiently. "Since you requested an overseas trip, Ms. Mercer already took the language barrier into account. I'll be escorting you for this leg of the journey. Once you board the cruise ship, a dedicated translator will take over. You'll have guides who speak your language every step of the way. Communication won't be an issue."
Emily smiled brightly. "Oh, that's wonderful! We don't speak a word of anything else, but Ms. Mercer was thoughtful enough to hire a translator for us."
Mr. Bennett nodded eagerly. "Ms. Mercer really thinks of everything."
Mrs. Bennett chimed in, "She's just too kind."
The rest of the relatives eagerly echoed the praise.
Once the plane was prepped, the captain announced their departure. The sudden takeoff startled the group; they all tensed up, their faces paling as a heavy silence fell over the cabin.
Ethan took a deep breath, thankful for the sudden peace and quiet.
Then he noticed Dolores sitting beside him. She looked visibly terrified.
"Don't be scared," he reassured her gently. "Just breathe normally. Flying is perfectly safe."
