Aurora Walton and Lucas Carter novel Chapter 1680

She began to wonder if she’d made a mistake raising her daughter to be so strong-willed.

If Yvonne could just learn to see things differently, everything would still be open for discussion.

But looking at her now, it was clear she was only digging herself deeper.

Michelle grew anxious, and Charles could see it in her face.

Irritated, he said, “I don’t know what kind of lessons you gave her growing up. Look at that temper, who does she even take after?”

“So what, you think I gave birth to her alone? She has nothing to do with you?”

Michelle’s tone sharpened, anger rising in her chest.

She hated it most when Charles took that superior attitude.

Every time something went wrong, he dumped all the blame for their daughter’s behavior on her.

If that was really how he saw things, then why get married at all?

Why have a child together?

A child was supposed to be theirs, not hers alone.

Fuming, Michelle shot to her feet.

“You’re always like this! I honestly don’t know what goes on in that head of yours. I’ve told you so many times that she’s not just my child.”

She turned to leave, but Charles’ voice grew louder. “What’s that supposed to mean? You’re saying it’s my fault now?”

“It means exactly what I said. Believe what you want. I have no regrets about how I raised her.”

With that, Michelle stormed off and slammed the bedroom door behind her.

The loud bang made the walls tremble.

Charles stood frozen.

Maybe it was time to get his fortune read.

Lately, everything in this house had gone wrong; nothing ever seemed to go his way.
