Aurora Walton and Lucas Carter novel Chapter 1678

“Are you sure you’re not talking about yourself?”

Charles fell silent.

“Do you really have to expose me like that?”

“Well, you were the one who called me out first.”

The two of them started bickering again, as usual.

Standing at the doorway, Yvonne felt speechless.

They were both already at this age yet still arguing over petty things.

Did neither of them care about her well-being at all?

Or did they simply not care whether she lived or died?

The thought left her with a hollow ache in her chest.

Was there really no place for her in this home anymore?

She walked into the living room with a blank expression, and their voices immediately stopped.

The couple exchanged glances, unsure what to say as they looked at their daughter’s cold face.

At last, Michelle spoke first.

“Yvonne, are you hungry? You just got off the plane. Do you want something to eat?”

Charles didn’t say anything, but his eyes were filled with quiet longing.

After all, it had been so long since they last saw their daughter.

How could he not feel concerned? She was the child he had watched grow up.

But Yvonne’s attitude remained distant.

She only responded faintly, “No, I’m not hungry. I just want to rest.”

With that, she turned and headed upstairs toward her room.
